Pre-installed malware appears on new mobile phones

David Jevans, CTO and founder of Marble , έλαβε πρόσφατα κάποια αρνητικά σχόλια από έναν πιθανό πελάτη του, κατά τον έλεγχο των of his company, which helps organizations manage and secure their mobile devices.

"He basically said: the device is not working," Jevans said. “I think Netflix is ».

But after a better control over the suspicious implementation, Jevans found it was not the actual Netflix app application.

"This is not the real Netflix," Jevans said: "You have an app that has been altered and sends passwords and credit card details to Russia."

Marble Security performs static analysis of its code και iOS

The fake Netflix app was pre-installed when the organization purchased the device. Marble Security then checked devices from other customers and found the problem to be very widespread. They spotted a fake version of Netflix for mobile and from at least four different manufacturers.
