Proxyham Raspberry Pi: The founder of Rhino Security, Benjamin Caudill, has created a tool to help those who are concerned about protecting their privacy and criminals to connect to wireless networks (stolen or not) four kilometers away.
Where does it work? Of course, in preventing discovery from the Authorities.
The Proxyham Raspberry Pi box hardware is a supplement to toolkits like Tor and can hide Web traffic.
Security researcher Caudill (caudillbenjamin) reported on Motherboard that the device should be placed near the WiFi source and it will start transmitting on its signal at 900MHz.
Caudill will sell the device to price cost, around 200 dollars. Users who wish to build it themselves can check the schematic representations of the hardware and open source software, when it will be presented at Defcon in August.
The box will probably have to be upgraded with self-destruction and audio tracking features to help the user locate his persecutors.
Data protection advocates, political dissidents, and aspiring criminals will rather appreciate this particular tool.
