Pure.Charger protects smartphones from unreliable USB ports

Kaspersky Lab's Future Crew Team has begun one project on Kickstarter by name Pure.Charger. The purpose of this device is to secure smartphones, as their owners connect them to public or unreliable USB ports for a quick charge.MicroB USB Pure.Charger

Some variants of malware are known to have the ability to "infect" shared storage drives , such as USB devices. Plugging your phone into a USB port is a risky business, especially if you don't know what's on the other end of the port.

A USB port in a public location (e.g. trains, airports, etc.) may seem innocent, but the στο άλλο άκρο μπορεί παρόλα αυτά να έχει «μολυνθεί» από κακόβουλα προγράμματα, ανεξάρτητα από το μέγεθός τους.

Pure.Charger, as described by the Kaspersky team Lab, is a simple in-out USB thumb-drive device, which separates the data stream from the electrical current. The gadget has a USB input at one end and a USB output to the other. It also has a touch screen on its top surface, which can be used to interact with the device, ie to enable or disable data lines on USB. By default, only power lines are active and no data is being transferred.

If the door USB try to start a data transfer process, the built-in touchscreen LCD will notify the user of the connection attempt. The they can approve the data transfer by tapping on the touch screen. Users can use the Pure.Chargerby connecting it to the desired port USB and then connect the cable USB phone with the device. The Pure.Charger will act as a "delegate" of the data transfer, but will allow the electricity to pass unimpeded.

It is worth noting that the Kaspersky Lab he goes on to the project, starting a campaign through crowdfunding on Kickstarter to showcase its support to the startup community and to develop innovative security solutions against digital threats, as well as products where security technologies provide a unique competitive advantage. The campaign at Kickstarter it's not actually meant to fund the project, but more of a way for the company to draw public attention to της μη ασφαλούς φόρτισης και να τραβήξει το ενδιαφέρον σε μια λύση που απαντά σε αυτόν τον κίνδυνο ασφάλειας.
