RansomFree is a new one free program for functional σύστημα της Microsoft που θα σας βοηθήσει να προστατέψετε τον υπολογιστή σας από επιθέσεις ransomware.
The program is fully compatible with 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10.
The protection it adds to the system is interesting as it creates a number of archives in the system that monitor any changes.
These files use characters that place them at the top of the folder structure. The idea is that ransomware attacks the files using the same structure after the attack.
Ransomfree places popular file formats, docx, doc, SQL, xls and so on in folders that are often targeted attacks ransomware.
According to Cybereason, the application can protect you from 40 ransomware executives. These include: Locky, Cryptowall, TeslaCrypt, Jigsaw and Cerber.
Malicious applications are identified by their (known) behavior patterns. The Ransomfree process runs in the background, and monitors your system's folders for any changes. The application will block any process that modifies the folders or files it tracks.
So, in theory at least, it can prevent ransomware from "really" infecting your system, using honeypots. This of course largely depends on how the ransomware works. It should be mentioned that the developers of malicious applications may well change the behavior of ransomware, continuing the game of cat with mouse...
