Razer is known for its gaming accessories, and more recently, its laptops. One of the main reasons for the upcoming conwork with Lenovo, it's about reaching a wider audience.
The companies have announced a new branding partnership that will see some of Lenovo's gaming machines (laptops and desktops) marketed under the Y-series, will change their name to Razer Edition PCS along with the black and green aesthetics of the company in question.
But apart from the visual changes we will see in the first computers, the two companies will reportedly work together to develop completely new ones in the future productof.
Lenovo also said that all Razer Edition computers will be free of bloatware - something that the company points out is especially important given the company's more technologically-saavy friends. (The reference to the non-existence of bloatware, is not accidental, after the scandal that broke out last February)
At the moment there are no specs for the first Razer Edition PC, but we imagine that its features will be similar to those of Y900.
It's one movement which seems to make sense for both companies. Razer gains financial strength from the world's best-selling PC maker, while Lenovo is able to further expand into one of its few PC divisions (Gaming) which not only remained stable but also increased in recent years.
The first computers from this collaboration will be released at CES in January, according to TheVerge.
