The broken version seems to work without any problem, according to TorrentFreak.

A few years ago Denuvo's technology was a nightmare for crackers, as the protection it offered was impenetrable. Some of the older ones protected with Denuvo's technology were never found on torrent sites, indicating that the protection technology was very strong.

Of course, as with many security solutions, nothing works forever ... The start was with Rise of the Tomb Raider, which was broken by the CONSPIR4CY (CPY) team and launched on torrent websites in August 2016, approximately five months after its release. It was the first time anyone or some people had managed to break Denuvo's protection.

Then came "Inside", which CPY broke six weeks after its official release. There have been many more since then such as Doom and Watch Dogs 2 to name a few.

Denuvo has stated in the past that it did not give back in case the protection it offers does not prove to be sufficient.
