It's hard not to smile with it video from Serbian artist Dragan Ilic's latest work, where a robot uses him as a human brush to create a painting.
In his latest video, Ilic is tethered on an industrial robotic arm and turns around creating a vast abstract art canvas. According statements by the artist the project suggests the repeatability of industrial production, as well as the increasing subordination of humanity to the machines.
"The transformation of the work of art is placed at a point where the activities of man and machine intersect," Illich writes. “This results in an interaction based primarily on the need to transcend the limits of the human body". Ilitch talks about cyborgs and robot and their role in artistic and social processes.
