A hacker known as ROR [RG] has released data he has stolen from the Turkish National Police (EMG) servers. Data is currently being downloaded on BitTorrent sites.
ROR[RG] is the hacker who breached it service Adult Friend Finder, from which highly sensitive personal information was released from over 3,8 millions users.
The hacker claims to have released the data because he believes the Turkish police are corrupt, which is also supported by many activists, journalists and human rights organizations.
On Turkey we often hear it in various scandals regarding corruption and abuse of power by the Authorities. Members of the international press and Anonymous hackers are convinced that the Turkish government is behind the death of journalist Serena Shim.
Anonymous also launched cyberwar against Turkey, accusing it of helping Islamic militants fighting battles in Syria by providing medical support to their injured warriors.
In addition, the Turkish media have repeatedly accused the police of using excessive force to suppress public protests in large cities in Turkey.
The torrent file with the leaked data is about 2 GB compressed. When unzipped it shows 17.8GB of information. All data is in .myd and .myi format, standard formats files MySQL server backups.
