You all know that routers are vulnerable to attacks. Usually by using a strong password and the right type of encryption for wireless connections, we feel safe.
But security isn't just about a strong encrypted password. For example, if the routers they are not configured to update automatically when new firmware is released, they continue to work with the old one, which makes the devices vulnerable to attacks.
The RouterCheck is a free Android application that scans your router for known vulnerabilities but also for common issues such as open ports or weak administrator passwords.
Just press it button “check my router” to start the test. You will need to confirm that you are the owner of the router before you can run the tests.
The test does not last for more than one minute and when completed it will give you a detailed report.
Your report lists all errors and Results they are color-coded: green means OK, blue means the test could not be performed, yellow means there are some issues you might want to fix, and red for serious security issues.
There is a repair option that appears in the yellow color errors.
For example, there may be a warning that your router allows pingable addresses. If you click the fix button you will be taken to a page that describes why this is a problem and how it can be fixed.
It should be noted that the instructions are of a general nature, as routers use different menu names and navigation structures.
