Samsung has announced that it has started mass production of its upcoming embedded units μνήμηs to 256 gigabytes using the Universal Flash Storage (UFS) 2.0
Save can be done with 850 megabytes per second or manage records in 260 megabytes per second.
Note: Megabytes are not megabits.
This means, as reported by the Korean company, that a portable device equipped with USB 3.0 will be able to absorb very high volumes of data with a wired connection. Indeed, the storage speed is faster than on normal PC disks.
256 gigabytes of storage in one smartphone it sounds like a very good idea, but we must not forget that adding such a disk will greatly increase the cost of the device.
The fact can explain why the new Galaxy S7 comes with a 32GB disc and has re-introduced the micro SD card that was removed from last year's Galaxy S6.
And all this despite the fact that Samsung is already building UFS memory cards in 128GB for a year now.
