If this is true in reddit, it appears that Samsung's subsidiary in France will remotely disable all devices Galaxy Note 7 in circulation and will not be returned to the manufacturer until Friday September 30th.
At the moment we do not know how Samsung will deal with it recall in other regions, but the company is reportedly starting the Mission bundles to all Galaxy Note 7 owners residing in France on Monday, September 19.
The package will include a Galaxy Note 7 replacement device, the latest Gear VR, and a prepaid envelope that should be used to return the defective device.
Judging by this revelation and one a recent Samsung Newsroom publication, it seems that the company is having a hard time convincing its customers to take part in the Exchange program. However, threatening to disable the devices will probably work better.
From an economic point of view, Samsung will have to finish immediately with the revocation or at least as soon as possible.
Analysts initially believed that this whole fiasco would cost the company about 1 billion dollars, but after the recent FAA intervention that banned the use of the device on aircraft dropped the value of the market price against 10 billion.
UPDATE: Samsung denied reputation by saying that the company will not deactivate the Galaxy Note 7 that will not be returned until September 30, according to Android Central.
