It seems that Samsung has finally decided to admit and address the issue presented with the Windows Update. Η εταιρεία δήλωσε ότι θα κυκλοφορήσει ένα patch που να ενεργοποιήσει ξανά την default Windows behavior.
Samsung had some adventures this weekteam, όταν αποκαλύφθηκε ότι το λογισμικό της λειτουργεί περισσότερο σαν bloatware rather than a normal update software.
To be more accurate, the SWUpdate of the company, the software that updates Samsung's computers with the drivers and selected company programs, disables Windows Update on some computers.
The company initially denied that its software did so, later attempted to justify this behavior, saying it was necessary to ensure the stability of the drivers on its computers.

Ultimately, it seems that the Korean company succumbed. In a statement sent to VB, the manufacturer said it would release an update to resolve the issue by re-activating Windows Update, which would otherwise have been enabled by default.
The full company statement:
Samsung is committed to security and continues to appreciate its collaboration with Microsoft. We will issue a patch with Samsung's software update process and computers will revert to recommended auto-settings via Windows Update within a few days. The company remains dedicated to providing a user-friendly experience and encourages our customers to ask questions about each product or their concerns directly at 1-800-SAMMSUNG.
This is taking responsibility… But it came a little late after the internet buzzed. The first behavior of the company was the attempt to deny, and justify the fact.
But we believe that trust in the customer is gaining from small details that make the difference.
It would be much more honest, direct acceptance and direct ownership rather than attempts to distract users.
Such facts, however, show how important the presence of aka hackers or pentesters is, and how much immediate security gaps can help.
