Nintendo has announced a sad news today. Nintendo CEO and President Satoru Iwata passed away on July 11 of 2015 from gallbladder cancer.
Iwata started his career as a game developer for HAL Laboratory which became famous due to its collaboration with Nintendo on several well-known high-profile projects.
He quickly went into the HAL hierarchy, and finally left and joined 2000 on Nintendo.
It is worth noting that he was the first chairman who did not belong to the Yamauchi family who founded Nintendo.
In 2002, Iwata became Nintendo's fourth president. During his time at Nintendo, Iwata has been involved in many of its successful projects companys and even took over as CEO of Nintendo of America in 2013. Satoru Iwata is credited with tripling the company's profits, especially after the release of the Game Boy Advance SP and Wii.
While he was president of the Company he released several best-sellers and continued to develop it material of his game with the introduction of the Wii U. He also continued the procedure evolution of the DS series with the new 3DS standard.
Satoru Iwata was also involved in the development of the new NX platform and had refused to provide more details about it before 2016.
Iwata tried to make Nintendo more accessible to the public and hosted several companies to show them the company's development process.
