The new CEO of Microsoft Satya Nadella during the event in San Francisco talked about the company's latest cloud improvements, and announced Office for iPad, a new version of its productivity suite companys.
Although the unveiling of Office for iPad was the highlight of the event, Satya Nadella made some statements about the future of Windows, explaining that exciting news is coming next week at congress developer conference BUILD 2014 which will be held again in San Francisco.
"Next week I will be here again, along with many others from our company, and we will talk about innovations in Windows, and one of the questions I would like to ask is what about Windows? "Where do Windows get stuck with all this?" said Satya Nadella.
"Windows is a huge program for us. We will innovate and you will see us discussing next week the big operating system innovations and the big device innovations. ”
Of course, Nadella was talking about 8.1's Windows Update, the next significant improvement in Windows 8.1 expected to be featured during the conference next week.
Microsoft hasn't said too much about the Windows 8.1 Update, other than that it's an important one packet enhancements scheduled for release in the spring. However, we know almost everything about Windows Update 8.1, thanks to various leaks that have hit the web lately.
Windows Update 8.1 will try to make the Metro UI a bit more suitable for traditional PCs by adding some new features to the Start screen, such as a frame search and new power options.
