Η χρηματιστηριακή εταιρεία Scottrade ανακοίνωσε σήμερα ότι διέρρευσαν τα αρχεία περίπου 4,6 εκατομμυρίων πελατών της “από μια παραβίαση ασφαλείας που πραγματοποιήθηκε κάποια στιγμή ανάμεσα στα τέλη του 2013 και στις αρχές του 2014.”
The company reports that it has recently been notified of the theft by the authorities, and in particular by the federation, and has reason to believe that hackers have gained access to millions of customer names as well as their actual addresses.
It also states that the codes access, are fully encrypted and that no illegal activity has been observed since the breach took place.
Scottrade is offering customers affected by the hack (to reassure them apparently) from one year free services identity protection through AllClear ID.
This is the second major violation that was revealed in the US this week.
Yesterday, Experian Credit Processing Company reported that data from 15 million T-Mobile customers leaked from its systems.
