In particular, unknown perpetrators, using fraudulent e-mail accounts, send bulk messages, informing users that their information system has been compromised and that all their data has been copied to their servers.

Attempting to blackmail victims with the threat of publishing sexual content portraying the victim is referred to internationally as "sexual extortion - sextortion".
Following the above, the Cybercrime Prosecution Directorate proposes to the recipients of the above fraudulent messages of extortionate content to:
- Do not respond to such emails.
- Never communicate with blackmailers for any reason.

- Do not open any attachments in emails from unknown senders.
- Immediately change any account password that they consider to be at risk.
