In September 2014, TorrentFreak was made aware of a case brought to the στο Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο. Στην υπόθεση οι ο κατήγορος ήταν η TCYK LLC και ο κατηγορούμενος η εταιρεία παροχής υπηρεσιών Sky.

TCYK is one of the original The Company You Keep directed and starring Robert Redford starring alongside Susan Sarandon and Shia LeBeouf.

In the evidence filed by TCYK LLP in court, there are Sky IP addresses that downloaded the movie. So the company was forced to deliver the names and addresses of subscribers who allegedly illegally downloaded the movie.

Since last summer, Sky customers have begun receiving letters of indictment and fines that require hundreds of pounds as compensation.

One of the recipients of these letters is Sheila Drew who lives in Black Country, an old industrial area in the heart of the West Midlands. She is a retired 82 of age and she is being pressured by TCYK to pay £ 600 for fine because the movie was downloaded.

Sheila Drew told the BBC:

"Είμαι αναστατωμένη, έχω κατηγορηθεί για κάτι που δεν έκανα."

We will not examine whether the fact is true or lies, but how an authority can deal with cases where the charges are based on IP addresses.
As evidence we report the irrefutable evidence that someone has committed a criminal act. An IP address naturally can not condemn its owner and the law probably will have to change.

Μέχρι τότε όμως η Sheila θα πρέπει να πληρώσει το πρόστιμο...
