Good news for Microsoft friends after having one company cooperation with Signal, a secure messaging application, is preparing to add end to end encryption to Skype.
This means that all the conversations, files and audio messages that are sent and received will be transmitted safely through the service and you will be able to read them only by you and the recipient.
So the company is trying to ensure that the data passing through the servers of the service is not monitored by anyone. No one will be able to record or analyze data passing through Microsoft servers, as is supposed to be the case with Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp and Telegram messages.
However, this encryption will not yet apply to audio and video calls. They will use the standard encryption that Microsoft provides with this service.
The security feature is currently available in the latest version of Skype Insider for Mac, Windows, Linux, Android and iOS.
It should be noted that to work, both parties should use the latest version. As TheVerge reports, Microsoft would do well to activate this feature by default when it is released in an upcoming final version of Skype.
