Three out of 10 smartphone users do not "lock" it device their
As the Internet security threat increases and intensifies, along with the spread of "smart" devices, a large number of users appear extremely negligent in this area.
According to research on social media for smartphone usage by ESET, presented at Mobile World Congress, now around 10% of surveyed users have lost or had their device stolen in the last 12 months. In addition, 29,3% do not lock their smartphone, while approximately 20% do not back up their data at all.
According to a relevant post on the website of SEPE, according to the results of the survey, 19,7% of users, in fact, do not make any backup copies of their data. There is a percentage of 35,7%, who do it only occasionally, with 19,9% stating that they make backups daily, 14,7% weekly and 10% monthly.
The survey shows that 29,3% do not lock the phone or the screen. And the vast majority, 55,3%, uses PIN number to lock, 12,5% use fingerprint and 3% face detection feature.
According to ESET, one of the best ways to protect against access to business networks, as well as personal emails, is to use two-factor authentication. At this point, the research also identified a positive finding, as 64,9% of respondents already use certification for online services (e.g. via text messages).
This can be especially important for services such as online banking, which are used by 53% of users surveyed. In addition, the research highlighted the importance of protecting users' cloud smartphone, as already 26,9% only uses these cloud services and 23,1% stores data both locally and cloud.
