Earlier this week, a group of researchers from Gibson Security published what they claim to be Snapchat API, and revealed two gaps security που θα μπορούσαν να επιτρέψουν σε hackers να αποκτήσουν access on the phone number and privacy of the owner of Snapchat. As it seems, their claims are true.
Snapchat's development team confirmed that Gibson Security had published their private API. More specifically, for the resulting safety gaps, they reported:
If one creates a large base data with phone numbers, and each code regions, or any possible number in the US, could match – connect Christian names to phone numbers. In the past we have implemented various measures to make it harder to do.
Snapchat developers were not so clear, and it seems that the company is not too worried about possible violations. The company, however, said it would continue to apply countermeasures to curb spam and violations.
