The ZIPs referenced in the image (links to the leaked data are blurred) contain lists of document names related to financial data, along with the private key to access the servers. The message seen on the computers states that the hackers' "demands" must be met by November 24 at 23:00 GMT or the files will be released publicly.

A source inside Sony has anonymously confirmed to TNW that the breach has taken place and the image allegedly displayed on Sony Pictures computers is genuine. He also said that they violated "a single server and the attack spread from there."

For those who do not know Sony Pictures is the US company that manages the distribution of the film and television productions of the company.

We await the company's press release on whether it managed to deal with the violation. However, we find it impossible to succumb to extortion.
