How to disable it downloading of Windows 10 in a Windows 7 & 8.1 environment;
1 method.
- Install the updates KB3065987 (for Windows 7) or KB3065988 (for Windows 8.1).
- Restart your computer.
- Then open the registry editor by typing “regedit” in the start menu search.
- Follow the route
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Policies \ Microsoft \ Windows
- Turn right click over the Windows and select New -> Key and name it “WindowsUpdate".
- Then, in the new folder that appears, right click again and create a new one 32-bit DWORD name it “DisableOSUpgrade ” with value = 1.
- Reboot and be ready!
2 method.
All Windows 7 & 8.1 users can choose what upgrades to make. So, you can choose from the updates menu to warn you before doing anything.
3 method.
The 3η This method is for Windows 8.1 users only and works only for users who are connected to an Ethernet cable rather than WiFi or a mobile connection.
