The Cyber Security and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) of Ministryof Internal Security of USA (DHS) released details on its strategy for the safe 5G network development in the US.
Fifth-generation (5G) wireless technology is expected to bring many benefits, including higher data rates and higher network capacity, allowing developments in areas such as smart cities, autonomous vehicles and more.
Initially, 5G will operate on a standalone network (NSA), but will have to switch to standalone (SA) 5G within several years, allowing users to take full advantage of the benefits of technology.
Last year, more than 30 countries developed a document outlining recommendations for 5G development, which the US used to develop the National 5G Security Strategy, detailing how the US will provide 5G infrastructure for both inside and outside.
CISA's 5G strategy is fully in line with this document, providing information on five strategic initiatives aimed at ensuring a secure and resilient 5G infrastructure.
The agency, which says it will focus on ensuring that established infrastructure partnerships are used for 5G deployments, also published a infographic to help you easily understand the benefits and risks associated with 5G.
