The Farm 51 creates a virtual visit to Chernobyl

The Polish game company The Farm 51 announced its plan to create a virtual reality tour in Chernobyl and Pripyat, the city that housed the workers at the nuclear power plant.

chernobyl

ΤChernobyl was the worst nuclear disaster in the history of mankind and the region has been abandoned for nearly three decades. Few dare to go there and even fewer to delay beyond the short deadline foreseen by the scientists.

The company just released a VR video of Chernobyl, which is expected to be released on April 26, 2016, exactly 30 years after the disaster.

According to the company will be more than a mere virtual trip to the places that tourists are currently visiting. Its developers The 51 Farm have secured her to explore and record areas that are off limits to the public. The goal is to "immortize the contaminated zone and allow the user to learn about the events of April 26, 1986."

The development team will emphasize par high-resolution images with 360-degree stereoscopic cameras to capture details such as peeling paint or rust. The company's Creative Director, Mr. Wojciech Pazdur, also mentions that the tour will include a few "surprises" for users, including the apparitions of ghosts in certain corners.

The creation of this project is up to date not only because of the 30 anniversary since the day of the disaster, but because tourism in the exclusion zone of Chernobyl has been steadily rising. The power and the shaping of nature in an area completely abandoned by man has an unmistakable charm and attracts today about 10.000 visitors a year.

With the expected schedule, however, you will not need to buy an air ticket and a Gager meter to see the mysterious ruins of Chernobyl, nor do you need to disturb the presence of the wildlife populations that have recovered there in the absence of man.

For now see below released by the company.
