Torrentz.eu loves you and says goodbye

Sixteen days after Kickass Torrents administrator was arrested in Poland by US authorities Torrentz.eu, the largest s Torrent of the Internet, has stopped working, according to the messages that appear in its original .

So at the moment the page Torrentz.eu, where thousands flocked to search for torrent download links shows a message that says:torrentz.eu.Farewell

"Torrentz was a free, fast and powerful meta search engine, with combinations of results from dozens of search engines."

If you try to do a search, or click on a link on the web page, the message changes to:
“Torrentz will always love you. Farewell ”or“ Torrentz will love you forever. Goodbye."

All Torrentz domains display the same page, from the .EU domain to .me, .ch, and .IN.

Please note that prior to its sudden shutdown, Torrentz.eu had managed to reach Alexa rank 186.

The site was launched in July of 2003 by a person named Flippy. The purpose of the site was to search for torrents from several large gates and different trackers. This allowed users to download torrent files from many trackers, and speed up slow downloads.

With an ongoing legal in The Pirate Bay and after various arrests and the shutdown of Kickass Torrents, it seems that the administrators of Torrentz.eu have decided to shut down the website to avoid any future legal problems.

When YTS closed yesterday, the MPAA revealed that it had made a court settlement with the YTS manager, who then decided to stop any pirate activity.
