Transform Task Manager into Widget with Summary View

Task Management [Task ] in Windows 8/8.1 comes with one called “Summary View” [Summary View], which allows you to completely modify the look of this app.

When Summary View is enabled, Task Manager looks like one desktop widgets of . It shows CPU, memory, disk, Wifi and Ethernets counters in a compact window. Let's see how you can activate this feature.

  1. Open Task Manager. Or just tap key combination CTRL + SHIFT + ESC on your keyboard and it will start.
  2. Go to the tab Performances [].
  3. Double-click on any counter window on the left, for example the CPU counter:

  4. The Summary View feature will be activated: Summary-View-3
  5. It is also possible to disable charts while Task Manager is in Summary View. Right-click and select the "Hide Charts" option as shown below:  Summary-View-7 This will make the image even more compact. You can drag it to a corner of your screen and keep it running like a widget.

To get back to normal , just double click on any of the counters again. That's it.
