Task Management [Task Managers] in Windows 8/8.1 comes with one feature called “Summary View” [Summary View], which allows you to completely modify the look of this app.
When Summary View is enabled, Task Manager looks like one desktop widgets of Windows 7. It shows CPU, memory, disk, Wifi and Ethernets counters in a compact window. Let's see how you can activate this feature.
- Open Task Manager. Or just tap key combination CTRL + SHIFT + ESC on your keyboard and it will start.
- Go to the tab Performances [Performance].
- Double-click on any counter window on the left, for example the CPU counter:
- The Summary View feature will be activated:
- It is also possible to disable charts while Task Manager is in Summary View. Right-click and select the "Hide Charts" option as shown below: This will make the image even more compact. You can drag it to a corner of your screen and keep it running like a widget.
To get back to normal projection, just double click on any of the counters again. That's it.
