TweetThief: There is a category of people who apparently don't care about originality and have a habit of stealing other people's tweets and passing them off as their own.
If you suspect someone steals your valuable thoughts of 140 characters, David Longenecker has created a Python script named TweetThief that can help you uncover these diabolical thieves.
The script is available in GitHub, but beware, it requires some programming knowledge as you need to run it from Python CLI to work.
In addition, it requires the Twitter API, along with basic knowledge of how the API works and what limitations there are.
To use it TweetThief just run something like this off the line orders your. All options in brackets are optional, and only require a Twitter username to work. The username must not be yours and you can also check if someone else's tweets have been stolen.

By default, the program will scan the latest 20 tweets, and as Longenecker explains:
"Το Twitter API περιορίζει τον αριθμό των ερωτήσεων που μπορείτε να κάνετε σε μια περίοδο 15 λεπτών. Το ΤweetThief ανακτά τα tweets και στη συνέχεια πραγματοποιεί μια search για κάθε ένα μεμονωμένο tweet και πρακτικά μιλώντας η αναζήτηση περιορίζεται στα 200 πιο recently tweets περίπου"
Η αναζήτηση του ΤweetThief μπορεί να γίνει πιο προσαρμόσιμη χρησιμοποιώντας την επιλογή [-l] (--loose-match) με την οποία μπορείτε να κάνετε αναζήτηση με αποκλίσεις.
Αν μέσα από όλα αυτά αναρωτηθήκατε γιατί οι άνθρωποι κλέβουν tweets τότε σας ενημερώνουμε ότι στις περισσότερες περιπτώσεις, δεν είναι άνθρωποι, αλλά αυτοματοποιημένα ρομπότ. Συνήθως είναι κάποια scripts που έχουν συσταθεί από "έξυπνους" επιχειρηματίες, που προσθέτουν δραστηριότητα σε ένα προφίλ, στη συνέχεια συγκεντρώνουν ένα σεβαστό αριθμό από followers και τελικά πουλάνε αυτούς τους Twitter followers στη μαύρη αγορά.
In most cases, the results revealed by TweetThief must have been a robot, but you never know when you will find a real person who is republishing your Tweets by passing them as his own.
