Adam Conrad has announced the release of a new maintenance update for Ubuntu 16.04 LTS and Ubuntu Community Edition projects.
The new version, Ubuntu 16.04.3, provides new installation tools with bug fixes and minor updates, but does not represent a new version of the operating system.
“As with the previous LTS series, 16.04.3 includes updates for newer hardware. This support is offered on all architectures, except from powerpc 32 bit, and is installed by default when you use one of the desktop ISOs.
Ubuntu Server comes with default GA kernel, but you can select the HWE kernel from the installer bootloader.
As usual, the point release includes many updates that have been added to the installation media to require fewer updates after installing the operating system.
These include security updates and bug fixes to maintain stability and compatibility with series 16.04 LTS. "
