Ubuntu 18.04 LTS (Bionic Beaver): Ubuntu is one open code, free and for free functional system based on the Linux kernel. Its name comes from the Zulu and Xhosa meaning ubuntu, which is interpreted as "humanity to the other", as well as "I am what I am because of who we all are."
Ubuntu was launched in 2004, based on the Debian distribution. The goal of the distribution is to provide a constantly updated, stable operating system for the average user, with an enhanced emphasis on ease of use and installations. Ubuntu has been described as the most popular Linux distribution for desktop computers, and according to Valve it is on about 45% (21 Mar 2015) of all computers with distributions based on the Linux kernel.
Ubuntu is sponsored by Canonical Ltd., a private company founded by South African businessman Mark Shuttleworth. The company instead of selling Ubuntu records revenue from the paid technical support it provides for its product.
So today, according to the Release Schedule, we have the first Ubuntu 18.04 LTS (Bionic Beaver) RC (Release Candidate) on the upcoming distribution.
