Art and anarchy: Understanding a suicide bomber attack

Shortly after midnight, Neil Roberts wrote on her wall : "Συντηρούμε μια σιωπή που μοιάζει με ηλιθιότητα" ή στα Αγγλικά  "We have maintained a silence closely resembling stupidity.” Από κάτω ζωγράφισε το σύμβολο της αναρχίας και έγραψε τις λέξεις "peace thinking."
Roberts then walked towards the computers that store criminal justice information for use by New Zealand Law enforcement agencies.
One of the two security guards inside the building's foyer saw him coming. He saw Roberts bent as if he wanted to tie his shoes.

It was 12.35 after midnight.

A deafening roar and a flash and Roberts exploded. The guards burned their legs, but were not injured. The entrance of the building collapsed.

Roberts, then 22 years old, "gone", but the 1000 computers inside the building continued to work.
In Wanganui Computer Center 150 people were working, but there were only seven in service that morning at 18 1982 in November. And 7 escaped from the back of the building, away from the horrific scenes that stood in front of the entrance.

Ο superintendent BK Dean reported that he had never seen a body so deformed.

"They'll have to find pieces of it for days," he said at the time.

Ένα κομμάτι από το στήθος του Roberts που βρέθηκε είχε το τατουάζ  "Αυτός ο punk δεν θα δει τα 23 του, δεν υπάρχει μέλλον" . Έχοντας εντοπίσει από τα λείψανά του τα  δακτυλικά του αποτυπώματα, η Αστυνομία κατέληξε στο συμπέρασμα ήταν ένας from punk anarchist, you know from them with razor blades hanging from their ears. Everything showed that he acted alone.

The act of Roberts is still mentioned by anarchists and punks of every 18 November.  1984 also created a short movie . But after more than thirty years, memories of New Zealand's suicide bomber have faded. Many people do not even know that this has happened.

However, following the leaks of Edward Snowden and the discovery of illegal monitoring in New Zealand, conducted on behalf of American organizations when they wanted to capture his owner MegaUpload Kim Dotcom, the memories were re-awakened

Roberts has even a Facebook commemorative page. Roberts has been variously characterized as a misfit, a New Zealand Guy Fawkes and like a terrorist.

The police supported those who wanted him to be inappropriate.

"He had anti-social behavior and a penchant for protests of various kinds," Detective RL Butler told the press.
Those who knew him, however, insist that Roberts complained against the Computer Center because he saw it as a threat to freedom. For Roberts and others, the Wanganui Computer Center was a Big Brother symbol.
Someone who knew Roberts, the 18-year-old at the time Bronwyn Dutton, said he just heard about the bomb at Wanganui Computer Center he knew it was him.

"Μισούσε το Κέντρο Υπολογιστών ίσως περισσότερο από τον καθένα", είπε, χαρακτηρίζοντας τον  Roberts σαν "πολύ ήπιο, ήρεμο και πολύ έξυπνο".
