A while ago we reported, showing a video of the madness that prevailed outside an Apple store waiting for the iPhone 5S. The video with the name “The Dark Side of the iPhone 5S Lines, "Had been up on YouTube by Casey Neistat and presented from another angle crazy Apple fans.
It may be true that imitation is the most sincere form of flattery, but the Casey Neistat (director from New York) did not feel flattered at all when he learned that part of his film had been falsified to be used as a mobilization video for Apple employees. The modified version of the video was sent internally at Apple on September 30 to some customer service representatives to thank them for their hard work on the latest iPhone, according to an Apple employee who gave the video to New York Times. Of course NYT does not name the employee, but she has the video.
The video created by Apple plays fast-moving with catchy music while headlines and titles from the release of the product dance across the screen. The name of Mr Neistat, which was located in the top right corner of the original, has been removed, but the woman who was wrapped in a plastic bag remains.
Mr. Neistat, who incidentally has been an Apple fan for many years and himself waited in the endless line at line for the first iPhone six years ago, he found his film's reinterpretation ironic and offensive.
