For those who believe that bitcoin could become a global currency, maybe they should raise the bar. THE Sir Richard Branson announced that its commercial space operations business Virgin Galactic will accept payments with Bitcoins for space flights.
With a Branson publication explained that one passenger, (a stewardess from Hawaii), has already purchased a ticket from Virgin Galactic using bitcoins and "many more are expected to follow in her footsteps."
Ο Branson began shortly after praising the digital currency: "Bitcoins have not yet been officially recognized by governments as a currency, but with some regulation I hope they will be widely accepted."
Virgin Galactic's first commercial flight is expected to take off next August, as reported Mashable. Branson, his wife Holly and son Sam will be among the passengers for the maiden taxiby the company. The flight costs $250.000, or 329 bitcoins at Friday's price ($759).
