O Vladimir Putin recently stated that the Internet is a “project of the CIA". Experts have been warning for months that NSA surveillance will break up the Internet.
After the messages given by Brazil and Germany, which actually propose the creation local Internet networks to protect themselves from the spying actions of the United States, Russia is likely to be added to the list.
Vladimir Putin was very clear when he named the Internet a "CIA project."
The Russian president made this statement during a press conference in St. Petersburg. During his speech, he also said that the US intelligence service originally created the Internet and has since continued to develop it.
This is not the first time that Vladimir Putin has hinted that he would want Russia to have its own alternative network, separate from the global network.
Germany and Brazil, as we mentioned above, are two other countries that have similar plans, especially after the revelations of the National Security Agency's actions.
There are, of course, many who blame Snowden for the consequences of his revelations.
However, Snowden's supporters point out that there would be no risk of Internet disruption if the NSA had not spied on the world.
