The well-known VLC application media player for Windows 8.1 is finally on Windows Store. Although the development process has taken more than a year, the application is available as a beta build for x86 and x64 versions of Microsoft's modern operating system.
The VLC app for Windows 8.1 was officially announced in late 2013 when the VideoLAN started search funding through Kickstarter to get the necessary funds to convert the famous app for Windows 8. From then until now there have been many delays as various technical issues presented themselves.
"VLC for Windows 8 is an experimental port of VLC media player for the WinRT platform. VLC media player is an open source application that plays all media file formats, from files, streams and disks across all platforms.
