Volocopter's dream for the creation personalized aviation appears to have taken another step forward as the company announced today that it has received a $30 million funding round from the European Automotive Daimler.
German businessman Lukasz Gadowski also participated in funding. The German company said it would use the money to continue the development of electric cabin taxi or electric vertical take-off and landing electric vehicles (eVTOL).
The company hopes that the aircraft, which can carry two people, will play an essential role in upcoming urban transport.

"The strong financial commitment of our new investors is a signal, as well as a testament to the growing confidence in the emerging market for electric VTOLs that will be used as private air taxis," he said. Florian Reuter, its managing director Volocopter.

Volocopter says her mission is to "make everyone's dream come true and help modern cities solve growing transport issues."
The company recently announced that it will launch demonstrations of its taxi in Dubai in the fourth quarter of this year.
The company said the next step would be to further develop Volocopter in order to be ready for production and circulation worldwide.
