WebRCade is a website that offers a free emulator in retro games of the most popular consoles, via the cloud.
WebRCade is a website with open source material code which contains retro games. It is based on streams from the cloud and you can play a lot of games through the browsers. It also allows you to show sites where you've hosted your own content to play instantly, with no downloads required.
WebRCade currently only supports the most popular 16-bit consoles like the ones you see below, but over time, developers are looking to add support for more advanced games, such as the Nintendo 64 and others.
Enter WebRCade, do click on the Play button and you will see the following consoles where you can choose:
- Atari 2600
- Atari 7800
- Nintendo
- Super Nintendo
- Game Boy
- Boy Color game
- Game Boy Advance
- Sega SG-1000
- Sega Master system
- Sega genesis
- Sega Game Gear
- Gaming machines like Classic Doom
For each console you have a number of games where in addition to titles you can see a photo of the games to understand which one it is.
WebRCade supports game controls, so you can pair one or use a GameSir X2, Backbone or Razer Kishi for a more native experience.
Also if you register you can make your own collection games from their existing games (by clicking the Build button of the original screens). There you can change titles, customize which consoles you want, which games, etc.
In our trials the games did not break, they were flawless and reminded us of the good old days of our youth.
