webtorrent desktop: WebTorrent is best described as a BitTorrent client for the web. It allows you to share files directly from your browser, without having to configure or install any additional software.
Today we released the new WebTorrent Desktop, offering a lightweight yet feature-rich torrent client for streaming on Windows, Linux and Mac.
Sharing media content is mostly done using an application like uTorrent, Vuze, qBitTorrent or Transmission, but thanks to Stanford University graduate Feross Aboukhadijeh, there's another way.
WebTorrent instead of using standalone applications such as those listed above allows you to share files directly from your browser without having to install any additional software.
"WebTorrent is the first torrent client developed for the web. It is written entirely in JavaScript and uses WebRTC for peer-to-peer transfers. No need to install plugins in the program tours, no extension or installation required,” Feross told Torrentfreak.
WebTorrent Desktop (WDT) is the new creation of Feross. WDT provides an extremely smooth video streaming experience, just like any other torrent client, with a clean and simple interface.
