Extensions are a very practical feature for any modern browser. However, Microsoft has traditionally insisted on the availability of applications that do not support plugins.
The company eventually decided to change things and follow the trend of all major browsers like Chrome and Firefox.
So as of Windows 10 build 11082, Edge has some code to support browser extensions. There are some references to the application's registry and DLL files.
Extensions window can be enabled but currently does not appear to work:
Microsoft had announced that extensions would be supported by Edge, but not by it version Windows 10 RTM.

I personally use Mozilla Firefox. In addition to its rich features, being cross-platform, it supports extensions, has a lot of customization, above all it offers more security to the privacy of its users.
