Windows 10 KB4557957 Microsoft confirms bug

Microsoft has confirmed a new print error in Windows 10, and reports that it occurs after installing the latest cumulative updates released through Patch Tuesday June 2020.

The problem also appears in Windows 4557957 KB10 Cumulative Update, which is the first Cumulative Update for Windows 10 of the 2004 version (May 2020 Update).

Microsoft reports that after installing these updates, the printers could not work and that the same error also affects PDF printers.Microsoft: Cumulative Update Error KB4535996

"After installing this update, some printers may not print. Printing may cause an error or stop unexpectedly. You may also have problems with the applications from which you are trying to print. You may see an error from the application or the application may close unexpectedly ", he says Microsoft.

The bug is in the following cumulative updates:

June 9, 2020 - KB4557957 (OS Build 19041.329)
June 9, 2020 - KB4560960 (OS Builds 18362.900 and 18363.900)
June 9, 2020 - KB4561608 (OS Build 17763.1282)

Unfortunately, the only way to fix the whole issue is to remove the updates that are responsible for the error, which of course is not recommended as it leaves your device without the latest security updates.

The good news is that not all printers seem to be affected. Microsoft has not yet released any specific bug details.
