Windows 10 RTM is almost here. Such as we mentioned yesterday, Microsoft is preparing to complete its work, on the new operating system system sometime this week.
But it seems that as of today we also have a date, as Microsoft has reportedly set July 9 as the Windows 10 RTM sign-off date. This means that beyond this date, we will not see any new modification in the upcoming operating system.
The first to reveal the date was Russian leaker WZor, who said Microsoft plans to have Windows 10 RTM ready on July 9. So on Thursday, if rumors are right, we could have the RTM version, if not from Microsoft, definitely from unofficial sources.
The RTM version is a critical milestone in the development of new Windows as Microsoft will not change anything in the operating system beyond that date.
As soon as RTM is ready, Windows 10 will be delivered to OEMs to install the new operating system on their devices and prepare for the big launch on July 29.
"We will give a build of Windows 10 to our OEM partners so that they can start developing new devices with Windows 10," said Windows development manager Terry Myerson last week.
“Shortly after that, we will make Windows 10 available to emconditions retailers around the world so they can help their customers with upgrades to recent devices sold with Windows 8.1.”
Windows 10 will be available for Windows first Insiders on July 29th, after which they will begin rolling out to everyone. The release will be made in waves to computers that are fully compatible with the new operating system, the company said.
