In Build 2019, the Microsoft announces new Windows Terminal for users of Windows 10. Last night, Windows Terminal appeared on Microsoft Store.
Soon after, Microsoft published an article which confirms the launch of Windows Terminal. At the moment this is a preview and from what we understand this will be the first version from a series of test releases, until the winter of 2019 which Microsoft has set as the deadline for the final version of Terminal 1.0.
The new app has many new features such as multi-tab support, support for many settings and configuration options that allow users to customize the appearance of Terminal and more.
If you are running Windows 10, you can download the Terminal from the Microsoft Store from here. You must be running Windows 10 version 18362.0 to continue the installation from the Microsoft Store. Otherwise it will accept the command but will not proceed with the installation process.
Additionally, once the Microsoft Store sees that you're running an older version, for example 17763.557, it provides you with a key information where it will take you in this link to update your system.
Microsoft has this program as open source so you can head to GitHub and contribute to the development of the application.
