The steady (RC) version of it Unofficial Service Pack 4 of Windows XP is now available. Contains new security and stability improvements and displays increased performance. This version will become final if the testing of the users who download it does not reveal any problems.
SP4 RC contains all the updates για τα Windows XP μέχρι τον Μάιο του 2014 (IE8, WMP11, MCE2005 με Update Rollup 2, MSN Explorer 10.5), τα .NET Frameworks 1.0, 1.1, 3.5, 4.0 (το τελευταίο δεν εγκαθίσταται από προchoice), XPS Viewer EP, MSXML4.0, Windows Search 4.0 (disabled by default), Bitlocker Go Reader and Windows Powershell 2.0 (disabled by default) while Windows is removed Messenger.
Επίσης περιλαμβάνονται βελτιώσεις ασφαλείας κατά του DLL injection (χρησιμοποιούνται αναφορές στο πλήρες path στο μητρώο, έτσι ώστε να είναι ξεκάθαρο ποια αρχεία αναφέρονται κάθε φορά) και χρησιμοποιούνται λιγότερα catalogs - γεγονός που αυξάνει τις επιδόσεις.
Ακόμη έχουν γίνει κάποια Customizations που επιλύουν αυτόματα κάποια προβλήματα σε ειδικά KB articles - για παράδειγμα στο Windows Firewall - και έχουν υπογραφεί ψηφιακά patched αρχεία που επιτρέπουν την χρήση των XP σε περισσότερη από 4 GB RAM (τα αρχεία αυτά διατίθενται ξεχωριστά και πρέπει να χρησιμοποιηθούν μαζί με το SP4).
With regard to Beta 3, the new version is clearly improved, since it supports all planned installation scenarios and solves many glitches.
