The Greek WordPress community is pleased to announce officially, my own, that the first WordCamp Athens 2016 It is a fact. The conference will be two days long, with speeches and contributors day and will take place at the Technopolis of the Municipality of Athens, in Gazi, on 19 & 20 November 2016. About 40% of the sites you read every day have been created with base its open source software WordPress. WordCamps are the official WordPress conferences held in every major city in the world. At WordCamps, we discuss a variety of things issues: web, development, design, social media, startups, e-commerce, blogging And much more. Ta WordCamps, on a global basis, supported and organized under the auspices of the WordPress Foundation -the official and charitable foundation that aims to preserve WordPress's openness.
A WordCamp is for everyone involved with WordPress, at all levels and knowledge levels. The conference is aimed at every internet user who is interested in getting informed about developments around WordPress, without any limitation: web developers, web designers, bloggers, journalists, content editors, web editors, social media managers and many other specialties are just some of the categories of professionals targeted by the conference.
WordCamp Athens 2016, organized by volunteers WordPress Greek Community from all over Greece and under the auspices of the WordPress Foundation. In particular, 15 members of the community, who formed the organizational team of WordCamp Athens, shared the responsibilities and worked nightly on the implementation of the conference.

WordPress Foundation is a valuable partner and supporter of our effort. So, WordCamp Athens 2016, financed a) by the official sponsors and supporters of the WordPress Foundation b) by the income of his tickets and c) from domestic financial sponsorships or service offers from companies operating in Greece.

The conference venue
H Technopolis of the Municipality of Athens is a central multi-cultural center with the aim of promoting the arts, development, entrepreneurship, innovation, education, lifelong learning for people of all ages, highlighting the industrial heritage and raising public awareness on social issues.
It is today a meeting place for cultural events in one of the most important industrial monuments, upgrading a historical area of the capital and creating another positive pole in the cultural identity of Athens.
