We had to wait for it and it was rather late to happen. This is not something that makes us particularly happy.
A company 3D-printing called Solid Concepts has succeeded in creating and successfully testing the first metal print gun, as announced today on her blog.
It's a 1911 pistol made with more than 30 3D-printed parts, and as you will see in the following video, it seems to work pretty well.
Every part of the weapon, except των ελατηρίων κατασκευάστηκε με “λέιζερ μετάλλου άμεσης πυροσυσσωμάτωσης”, ή στα English “direct metal laser sintering,” (DMLS), a technology which manufactures metal parts from a 3D design by blasting metal powder with a laser.
