OurMine is a small group of hackers from Saudi Arabia. The team managed to break Mark Zuckerberg's accounts on Twitter and Pinterest tonight, even for a few hours.
Before Twitter could take down Zuckerberg's official account, hackers said they discovered the account's login information in its recent data breach LinkedIn.
Hackers managed to crack Zuckerberg's SHA1-hashed code, and began testing it on various social accounts used by the CEO Facebook.
So the team managed to infiltrate Zuckerberg's Twitter and Pinterest accounts, changed the page banners, adding their logo, and started sending tweets offensive content.
Twitter's security team was the first to react, taking down Zuckerberg's profile almost immediately. They deleted the tweets, and then proceeded to suspension of the bill.
The Pinterest security team took several hours to clear the Zuckerberg profile. However, social media were snapped up by hacked accounts.
The hackers reported that the Password that Zuckerberg used on LinkedIn was “dadada”, and apparently he used it on his other accounts as well.
Akamai first reported OurMine in July of 2015 when the group began expanding its actions. Then, in addition to hacking into social networking accounts, he also started DDoS attacks on financial institutions.
The team also made headlines in January of 2016, violated and stole 200.000 user certifications from the DayZ forum.
Akamai believes that members of OurMine team come from Saudi Arabia and are made up of teenagers.
