Google has acquired SlickLogin, an Israeli company that specializes in developing web-based alternatives. The news came from SlickLogin itself. The terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
SlickLogin's latest project allows users to connect to specific websites with a sound from their phone that has to keep them in front of their computer. The project, is 6 month old, and has not yet been released as a commercial product.
“We started the application to improve security, making it very simple each to make a connection, ”the founders of SlickLogin say in a statement on their website. "Today we can announce that the SlickLogin team will join Google." A Google spokesman has confirmed the takeover of the Israeli company.
The SlickLogin team will join Google's existing research and development center in Israel, and will be part of a security and authentication technology team, according to a source from inside.
