From the Electronic Crime Prosecutor's Office, targeted actions and investigations are being carried out, in cooperation with foreign authorities, to combat child pornography on the Internet
A tactical case file was established procedureagainst a 32-year-old citizen for child pornography.
In the context of targeted actions and investigations, in collaboration with foreign authorities, the ministry of pornography on the internet, a pornography case of minors, and a case file of a regular procedure involving a 32-year-old national from a region of Thessaloniki .
In particular, the investigation of the case started after an internet check on a peer-to-peer file sharing network (P2P), for possession and distribution of child pornography material, during which the electronic traces of the persons who owned and shared a specific pornographic file were recorded. . The audit revealed seven (7) electronic traces belonging to users within the Greek Territory.
The Directorate of Cybercrime Prosecution conducted a thorough digital investigation and analysis of the data and elements of the case, while an Order and a Board were issued by the competent Prosecution Authority, for the removal of the secrecy of the communications.
From the methodical police and digital investigation of the Electronic Crime Prosecutor's Office and the analysis of electronic traces, the managers of the investigated electronic traces were identified.
Yesterday morning (17-06-2015), a group of police officers conducted a surprise search, in the presence of a Judicial Officer, at the home of one of the perpetrators, a 32-year-old citizen, in the city of Thessaloniki. From the on-site digital investigation of the 32-year-old's digital media, it was determined that he was in possession of files with material pornography of minors, an act for which he was arrested at the limits of the autoforo.
In the framework of the investigation, a portable computer was found and seized and sent to the Criminal Investigation Division of Northern Greece for laboratory examinations.
