After a five-week evaluation period in beta versions, Microsoft has officially released Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint applications for Android smartphones.
So Android users tablets and smartphones can download the final versions of Word, Excel and PowerPoint (they are all contained in the Office suite, which has not yet been released as a single product application) for their devices according to company.
Despite the many different Android devices, Microsoft was finally able to release Office for Android mobile after a relatively short release period. public beta, said Kirk Koenigsbauer, corporate vice president of Client applications and services for Microsoft Office.
"We are grateful to the users of our preview versions, because with their help we were able to test applications on over 1.900 different Android device models in 83 countries." he said on the Office blog.
"During the preview, we heard feedback from these thousands of users, and over the past few weeks we have been able to incorporate many of them as corrections to the applications that will be released today," Koenigsbauer continued.
