The Raspberry Pi Foundation released the new Raspberry Pi 3 Model B +, which has a faster CPU and faster wireless performance than its predecessor, the Raspberry Pi 3 Model B.
The Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ comes exactly two years after the release of the Raspberry Pi 3 Model B. The changes it brings don't justify the name Raspberry Pi 4, but there are notable improvements, such as a faster Processor, higher Wi-Fi speeds and faster Ethernet.
The Pi 3 Model B + has a 1.4GHz processor 64-bit quad-core Broadcom Arm Cortex A53 while the processor of the Rascomberry Pi 3 Model B was the same but clocked at 1.2GHz.
It does not seem to change much, but it does bring a 15% performance improvement.
It also supports 2,4 GHz and 5 GHz dual band wireless LANs, Bluetooth 4.2 and Bluetooth Low Energy.
The Raspberry Pi Foundation reports that the dual-band wireless LAN comes with compliance certification, which will facilitate commercial release productbased on the Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+. This move will help reduce wireless LAN compliance testing.
The Gigabit Ethernet of the Raspberry Pi 3 Model B + via USB 2.0 offers a maximum performance of 300Mbps.
