The classic application of Windows Notepad has found a new home in the Microsoft Store. Now you can search for it and download it from there.
Microsoft, starting with Windows 10 20H1, seems to want to turn Notepad into a standalone application in the Store. This does not mean that Notebook will be excluded from the installation of Windows 10. It will remain connected to the operating system and available with it. But Microsoft is changing the way the app receives its updates.
Notepad upgrades are no longer associated with the Windows 10 Update program. It will receive standalone updates like any other Store app.
According to the company, change this will allow them to quickly respond to issues and feedback about Notepad and deliver new features to users of the application much more immediately.
Notepad is one of the classics applications of Windows that rarely had an update. However, starting with Windows 10 Build 17661, Notepad has received several new ones possibilities and improvements. Now he can handle it large files text without problems, comes with performance improvements and includes the following new options:
- Support for terminating a Unix line (shown in unix text better)
- Search Bing via Notepad
- Zoom in on the text
- An indication of unsaved text.
